Nelson Brewery faces the music

When the Neil Cowley Trio, well-known for its quirky live performances, was looking for a venue to shoot the video for their new album it was Nelson Brewery they turned to - the Nelson Brewery that is, in Chatham.

Neil Cowley commented: "We were looking for somewhere that fitted with the sheer range of the new album from pomp and splendour to powerful, rhythmic melodies and soaring strings".
The Nelson Brewery fitted the bill perfectly and Piers and his team kept us supplied with their No1 selling ale 'Powder Monkey' - I can't think of anywhere better The Nelson Brewery is in the heart of Chatham Royal Naval Dockyard, where Nelson's famous ship, the Victory, was built. The Brewery continues the tradition of Nelson's age by brewing a range of high quality Kentish beers for all tastes - ranging from Powder Monkey to Dogwatch Stout.
Their motto, in true Nelson tradition, is 'Expect the Best'.
Piers MacDonald, owner of the Nelson Brewery, said: 'Neil contacted us out of the blue but as you would expect from Nelson Brewery, we were ready to do our duty! We are pleased to have been of service to Neil, Evan and Rex. Cheers!'
The Neil Cowley Trio comprises Neil Cowley on piano, Evan Jenkins on drums and Rex Horan on bass. The Trio is well-known for its unique jazz style and engaging live performances but the new album is set to touch lovers of all music.
From appearances on Later with Jools Holland, at Ronnie Scott's, Glastonbury and the iTunes Festival to the critically acclaimed albums 'Displaced' (winner of the 2007 BBC Jazz Award for Best Album) and 'Loud...Louder...Stop' (hailed by Mojo as a 'modern classic'); and with a quirky on-stage humour that has won a loyal following, the Neil Cowley Trio couldn't have picked a better partner than the Nelson Brewery!
The new album, 'The Face of Mount Molehill', was released on 23rd January 2012 on Naim (naimcd171).
